Spider Veins

Getting older is a reality for us all, but looking older is optional. At PureMD we treat Spider Veins common with aging. Spider veins are small patches of veins that can vary in appearance from blue to red in color and resemble a spider web or tree branches in appearance. Generally these don’t pose a health risk, but occasionally they can be painful and itch or burn. In rare circumstances they can bleed and require more immediate medical attention.

All of our physicians and staff are trained in the latest technology and techniques to ensure that your vein treatment is individualized to meet your needs in comfort and quality care.

Finding the right treatment plan for you can be tough, but we are here to help. Ask us your question and be assured we will get back to you within 24 hours or less. Better yet, schedule a consult today with one of our friendly staff to assist you personally with your specific questions.

Laser treatments are often used in conjuction with sclerotherapy to reduce the visible veins. The heat from the laser causes them to become smaller in appearance.

The average patient requires 3-5 sessions spaced out over time. The procedure doesn’t take long at all and can be done with minimal to no discomfort. Sometimes compression stockings are worn for a few days after treatment to minimize any bruising and increase healing.

Vascular Conditions

Laser or light energy is selectively absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin resulting in heating of the blood vessels. With the correct wavelengths and fluence, the vascular lesion will be heated to above 70 °C. At that temperature, blood vessels will break down and shrink which leads to a reduction of the vascular lesion.

Pure MD Dayton provides consultation of treatment options to our patients. If you would like to discuss options best for you, we are happy to assist with and answer your questions.
